How to Use Alfalfa Meal
- New Gardens: Apply 5 to 10 lbs per 100 sq. ft of garden space.
- Trees and Shrubs: Mix 1 to 2 cups into transplant holes for new trees. Apply 1 lb per 2 inches of trunk diameter around the drip line for established trees. Mix into soil and water.
- Containers: Add up to 2 to 4 tbsp per gallon of soil for new containers. For established containers, feed monthly with 1 to 2 tbsp per gallon.
- Roses: Add ½ cup to 1 cup per hole for new roses. Mix into soil and water. For established roses, apply ½ cup to 1 cup in early Spring. Mix into soil and water.
